The newly opened Dusit Thani Maldives has unveiled its brand new, signature, spa - Devarana Spa. Located on Mudhdhoo Island the Devarana Spa features six deluxe treatment pods in addition to two ground level treatment rooms. The ethos behind the Devarana Spa (Devarana comes from Thai-Sanskrit, meaning “garden in heaven”) dates back to an ancient Thai literary work called “Tribhumphraruang”, which depicts the divine Gardens, found at the gates of heaven. The ancient transcript conjures illusions of heavenly scents, picturesque vistas, a sense of tranquillity and wellbeing, and soft, melodic music. Inspired by the Tribhumphraruang; the creators of the Devarana Spas have worked tirelessly to emulate every last facet of this mythical garden, right down to the glimmers of silver and gold and the prevalence of natural stones and gems. The bespoke treatment pods, nestled within the verdant landscape of the luxury 5 star resort, invite guests to transcend the everyday world, providing a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in which to enjoy premium spa treatments with traditional Thai service and hospitality. With an emphasis on pampering and wellness, “East meets West” Thai health and beauty practices have been sourced from age-old therapies and updated with modern knowledge to pamper and revitalise guests. Signature treatments include: The Heavenly Nantha Garden Experience (2.5 hours): Devarana Spa’s signature treatment brings the divine Nantha Garden to life by mixing fresh tropical plants grown on Mudhdoo Island with aromatic blends of ylang ylang and jasmine to create a truly heavenly experience. With the essence of island flora, this soothing treatment comforts your skin and uplifts your mind through the Devarana Bath and Devarana Body Scrub. Complete the unforgettable rejuvenation with the Devarana Massage that combines strong pressures of Thai, Ayurveda and Shiatsu techniques with Swedish and Aromatherapy influences for the ultimate in relaxation and pampering. The Harmony of Tad Si-the Traditional Thai Medicine (2.0 hours): An ancient Thai therapy is based on the Buddhist teaching that the human body is composed of Tad Si or four elements of earth, water, wind and fire. Traditional Thai medicine also believes that diseases are caused due to two main reasons: first, an imbalance of the four elements in the body, and second that the mind is governed by ‘ego’ and ego leads to unhealthy emotions of attachment, aggression and obscuration that can disturb the body harmony. The Harmony of Tad Si combines a Thai herbal compress dipped into aromatic oil tailored to each guest’s body element, with Thai Massage, incorporating pressure point and stretching techniques to relax muscles, relieve soreness, promote circulation and stimulate the nerve meridians of the body. In addition to a newly opened spa, the Dusit Thani Maldives also boasts a prime spot in the country’s first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the largest swimming pool in the Maldives. Accommodation includes 31 Beach Villas, 15 Beach Villas with private pool, 30 Lagoon Villas with private pool, 20 Ocean Villas with private pool, 2 Beach Residences with private pool and 2 Ocean Pavilions with private pool. Additional amenities include international cuisine at the resorts restaurants and bars - Market, Benjarong, Sea Grill, Sand Bar and Sala Bar, as well as floodlit tennis courts, a fully equipped fitness studio with personal trainer & yoga instructor, a children’s play area and club facility, a library and a dive centre. The Dusit Thani Maldives is just 35-minutes from Malé by seaplane, and 10-minutes by speedboat from the new domestic airport.
