A group of London Hilton hotels plan to mark Earth Hour 2012 from 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 31, 2012 as people and organisations around the world turn off their lights in support of action on global climate change. London Hilton on Park Lane, The Waldorf Hilton, Hilton London Metropole, Hilton London Tower Bridge, Hilton London Canary Wharf and many of the more than 3,800 hotels that are part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands are expected to take part in the event that will mobilize more than one billion people worldwide. Earth Hour will be celebrated at these hotels through a variety of activities including: London Hilton on Park Lane · Podium restaurant will be selling organic cupcakes, from which £0.50 will be donated to the Hilton in the Community Foundation charity for every cupcake sold between Thursday 29th March – Monday 2nd April · Trader Vic’s restaurant will limit the use of gas by using their wood-fired ovens · Galvin at Windows will serve organic wines and use organic ingredients where possible Perfectly located on prestigious Park Lane and boasting superb 360? views of the capital, the hotel offers a combination of contemporary and classic rooms over 28 floors. The Michelin starred Galvin at Windows Restaurant & Bar is located on the 28th floor with seasonally inspired modern French haute cuisine and classic cocktails with a twist.
