The occupancy rate at fixed hotels in the governorate of Luxor jumped to 64 percent, according to tourist police administration statistics.
Chinese nationals came at the top of foreigners visiting Luxor by 208 tourists, while the Britons came next by 114 tourists, Assistant Interior Minister for Tourist and Antiquities Affairs Maj. General Hosni Hussein said Thursday.
The foreign nationals represented 13 percent out of 2,205 visitors in the ancient city of Luxor, Hussein added.
Serbia Ambassador to Egypt arrived in the city on Thursday in a three-day visit, Hussein said.
