Al Waha, the beautiful Arabic restaurant at Taj Palace Hotel Dubai illustrates a trend towards DIY Dining. Guests can now enjoy the freshest seafood from a live fish tank recently installed at the restaurant. Filled with the finest hammour, lobsters, crabs and shrimps, it gives diners a choice to select their favourite seafood that can be cooked on the spot according to their individual preference or done in signature Taj style. Ahmed Badawy, Owner’s Representative and Director of Finance, Taj Palace Hotel Dubai, said: “There is nothing like fresh seafood and we want to give diners a choice to have it cooked to their liking or select their favourite dish from our special seafood menu. You are not compelled to select a dish from the menu rather you can do it yourself (DIY) with the chefs cooking it in your preferred style.” Research confirms that eating fresh seafood is far more healthy than frozen products as those contain far too much sodium than the recommended quantity. Seafood is packed with vitamins, minerals and Omega-3. Lobsters are a rich source of healthy and lean protein. The vitamin E in lobster helps to protect cells from damage. Fresh prawns are very low in fat and calories and super high in Vitamin B12 which is necessary for cell division. Crabs are high in protein and Omega-3 as well as rich in calcium, copper and zinc. It is beneficial for people suffering from arthritis and blood pressure. As the air fills up with aromas of irresistible charcoal grill, the chef at Al Waha take you on a gastronomical seafood adventure every Tuesday. The special seafood menu tempts with Shrimps, Live Lobsters (Canadian Small), Live Mud Crabs (400-600 gms) and Live Hammour that can be cooked to your liking or done in signature Taj style. If fish is not what you prefer, you could choose your favourite dish from the grill that offers Lamb Chops, Mixed Grill, Shish Kebab, Kofta Grilled and Shish Tawouk.
