Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy of the UAE, on Thursday received the Peruvian Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Merino Tafur, at the Ministry of Energy in Abu Dhabi in presence of Peru's Consul General in the UAE, Carlos Tavera. In his remarks at the meeting, Minister Al Mazrouei outlined the UAE's policy for diversifying energy resources, and pointed out to its leading role in supporting all efforts to contribute to backing the global economic growth. Al Mazrouei affirmed the UAE's keen interest in achieving stability of global energy markets through its membership in the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the Arab Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (AOPEC). For his part, Minister Tafur commended the huge developments the UAE is experiencing in all spheres and affirmed that Peru looks forward to supporting and promoting relations with the UAE in the service of the common interests of both countries. The Peruvian minister called on UAE companies to investment to tap the opportunities offered by his country's energy and mining sectors.
