The national committee for fight against disasters held a meeting on Sunday afternoon to coordinate interventions, assistance and rescue operations in the different governorates that recorded heavy rainfall in the last hours. According to a communique published on Sunday by the Interior Ministry, the regional commissions of fight against disasters in the Governorates of Tunis, Jendouba, Zaghouan, Ariana and Ben Arous, have also held meetings this Sunday to assess the effects of the heavy rainfall in these regions. All the disaster and emergency services units are in state of alert for possible aid and rescue operations. In the city of Bousalem, they have been pumping water out of 26 houses and shops. In Zaghouan, the units have rescued 7 citizens stuck in 3 flooded lorries and pumped water out of 10 houses and shops. In greater Tunis, they pumped water out of Sejoumi, Ettahrir district, jebel Jeloud and downtown Tunis. A communique published on Sunday by the national meteorological office referred to a possible rise in the water level of wadis.
