The team of Initiative of planting one million trees in Dubai, launched by Lt. General Dhahi Tamim Khlafan, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, has planted a number of Ghaf trees at Barsha Police Station.
Col. Abdullah Khadem bin Surur Al Ma'sam, Director of the Station stressed the importance of participation in the initiative to back the efforts of the Dubai Police Headquarters to extend green belt, spread culture of afforestation and protect the environment.
For his part, First Lieutenant Fahd Jassim Al Ghas, Director of Office of Assistant General Commander of Dubai Police for Academic Affairs and Training and Secretary of the Initiative of Planting One Million Trees, explained the objectives of the initiative kicked off by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on the sideline of the graduation ceremony of cadets in Nov. 2010.
He noted that the initiative revamps the state's efforts in protecting the environment and stretching the green belt.
