Locust-fighting efforts have been successful in eradicating the crop-eating insects in Upper Egyptian governorate of Qena, the Agriculture Ministry said Thursday. Locust hordes have attacked 1,087 feddans of corps in the governorate, undersecretary Iman Mohamed Ali told MENA. The operations and emergency center at the agriculture directorate is continuing its efforts to combat the crop-devouring bugs, she added. The combat teams are continuing to monitor the situation to confront any new migrating swarms coming from the border areas, he added.
