U.A.E. represented by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA), has won the membership of the working group International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for use in Explosive Atmospheres (IECEx SYSTEM), to become the first Gulf and Arab state to get the membership of the international group.
Chris Agius, Chief Executive of the International Working Group "IECEX", has formally accepted the membership of the ESMA after fulfilling the required criteria.
Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, Chairman of the ESMA said in a statement issued by ESMA yesterday that the winning of the membership comes in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to elevate the U.A.E. in all fields, provide decent living conditions to all community members, and support the national economy.
