Sharjah - Arabstoday

Hot, cloudy and hazy weather continued to prevail in the UAE. Sharjah recorded 46.1°C maximum day temperature on Thursday and high humidity dominated most of the time during the day. During the month of August, maximum day temperatures in the UAE will average around 45°C. Also, the hazy weather was poised to continue, meteorologists had forecast. Weather conditions remained the same as during the final days of July, with dusty winds reducing horizontal visibility in several internal areas of the country. Thursday was partly cloudy and hazy in general during daytime and there were some towering clouds over some eastern and southern areas. Easterly-southeasterly winds, with average speed of 18-25 knots became east-northeasterly by late afternoon over some western internal areas, the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said. Friday will also be partly cloudy and hazy in general during daytime. There are chances of towering clouds over some eastern and southern areas. Winds, as of Thursday, will be light to moderate in general and freshen at times causing blowing dust/sand over internal areas and reduce horizontal visibility, the NCMS added. Saturday will also witness a repetition of Friday’s weather conditions over most of country. Sea will be slight to moderate, Met sources said. From : Gulftoday
