A bear hanging out high in a tree near a Boulder, Colo., university campus, climbed down and walked away in darkness, wildlife officials said. Police received reports Thursday of the full-grown bear on a bicycle path near the University of Colorado, and it then climbed 35 feet up the tree, too high for tranquilizers to be administered, dispatchers said. Officials decided to monitor the situation and hope the bear would leave on its own, the Daily Camera reported. It did. Jennifer Churchill, a spokeswoman for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, said Friday the bear climbed down during the night and disappeared.
