An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit the north of Peru on Saturday morning.
The quake struck at a depth of 146 kilometres and had an epicentre in the Amazon territory of Peru's Loreto region. The disaster agency, Indeci, said there were no initial reports of injuries or damage.
