Minister of Water Resources and irrigation Hossam Moghazi revealed on Monday that Egypt will take part with a high-level delegation in the coming meeting of the council of Nile Basin countries in the Tanzanian city of Arusha on Friday.
In statements before traveling to Tanzania on Tuesday, he said Egypt's participation emanated from its keenness on promoting mechanisms of cooperation among the Nile countries.
He said the council will review the reports of the technical committees for the projects of the initiative of cementing cooperation and developing water resources.
Moghazi asserted that Egypt is still on its decision taken in 2010 against participation in the activities of the initiative because of the unilateral signing of some basin countries of the Cooperative the Framework Agreement (CFA), which is known as the Entebbe Agreement.
For his part, the executive coordinator of the national programs in Tanzania Osi Khalil said the minister will hold talks with Tanzanian official on Tanzanian-Egyptian cooperation in the field of water resources and Egyptian grants to Tanzania to carry out development programs.
