Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy held a meeting with a groups of students at Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering, currently working on a project to produce a solar-powered vehicle.
In a statement on Thursday, the minister said he handed over a check worth 390,000 pounds to the students as subsidy to support this pilot project.
He further reiterated the ministry's keenness on carrying out the youth projects and making use of creative ideas in the field of environment protection.
This project is part of the ministry's approach aimed at reducing emissions that lead to climate changes, as well as relying on new and renewable energy, Fahmy added.
Up to 25 engineering students are working on this project, which is scheduled to be finalized in a year.
