The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Arab League’s Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) stressed the importance of achieving the goals of sustainable development in the fields of agriculture, water resources, livestock and fish wealth and prevention of plant and animal diseases.
During a meeting of the FAO Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa with an AOAD delegation Thursday, FAO said that cooperation with strategic partners has become important with the growing challenges in the region due to the shortage of cultivatable lands and scarcity of water resources in addition to subsequent political conflicts and crises.
