African leaders approved here on Sunday Abdel Fattah El Sisi's two initiatives concerning extending use of renewable energy in Africa and diversifying sources of funding African countries to face climate change.
In statements, Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy said Sisi raised a report to the African leaders during a closed session that was held today as part of the African Summit meetings.
Sisi is currently the head of the African Union's climate change committee.
The report tackled the outcome of the Paris summit on climate change held in December 2015.
The two Egyptian initiatives will be included in the African Summit's resolutions, Fahmy further said.
