Electricity Minsiter Mohamed Shaker
Cairo - MENA

Electricity Minsiter Mohamed Shaker reviewed with representative of State Grid Corporation of China Zhang Li and her accompanying delegation on steps accomplished in the plan of supporting the Egyptian grid for transferring electricity in accordance with the set timetables.

Shaker necessitated achieving these steps quickly to add 14400 megawatts generated from electricity stations of Beni Suef, el Borolos and new administrative capital to the grid.

This will be done in cooperation with Siemens company and its local partners including Orascom and El Sewedy Electrics, he said.

The Chinese company is implementing one of the most successful projects in the time being, Shaker said.

These projects come within the framework the electricity sector plan to expand, support and improve the national electricity grid to cope with the increasing added loads.

On the other hand, Zhang li lauded the project, pointing out that it is one of the fruitful cooperation aspects between Egypt and China.
