Head of the Palestinian energy and natural resources authority Omar Katana Tuesday underlined the importance of activating the Arab power grid project and intensifying cooperation in the fields of producing, transferring and distributing electricity and renewable energy.
He asserted the importance of the meeting which tackled the status of power in the Gaza Strip which is highly affected by the Israeli occupation.
Addressing the opening session of the 11th Arab Electricity Ministers Council, Katana asserted the need to continue efforts to meet the increasing demands of energy and to revive the Arab League Secretary General's initiative on the renewable energy.
Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Arabic underlined the importance of providing electricity services to reach all consumers and called for exerting efforts to raise awareness among consumers on saving power.
