The Scottish government said it was interested in expanding the renewable energy potential into the country\'s agricultural sector.Scottish Environment Secretary Richard Lochhead said his country\'s new \"agri-renewables strategy\" would ensure that land managers \"can benefit from the renewables revolution and unlock the green energy potential of their land.\"Scotland has some of the more ambitious green-energy programs in the world. The country has more than $49 million set aside for forestry projects that will help protect the country\'s biodiversity. At least 30 percent of all of Scotland\'s energy demand will be met by renewable resources in 2020.\"Scotland is currently experiencing a renewables revolution and I want to see farmers, crofters and land managers working with local communities to ensure they grasp the benefits for their businesses and the nation,\" said Lochhead in a statement. He didn\'t indicate what sort of benefits or projects in which the agricultural sector would participate, however.
