The German company Siemens announced on Wednesday implementing two generator transformers of Beni Suef and Borollos power stations that will be linked to the national grid.
In a statement on Wednesday, Siemens said the full operation of the two generator transformers would help transferring about 2,500 megawatts to the national grid, an amount enough for catering for power needs of 10 million Egyptians.
The company said the two generator transformers were implemented within the framework of a contract signed with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company and Elsewedy Electric to implement six generator transformers in Menya, Beheira, Qalyoubia, Assiut and Kafr el Zayat.
Siemens said it works to up Egypt's power generation capacity by 50 percent by 2018.
