President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed on Monday with Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker plans to ensure no power outage during the summer.
The minister reviewed plans to develop electricity and renewable energy sectors through operating new stations, increasing production of power plants, providing more maintenance to power stations and depending more on renewable energy sources.
He briefed Sisi on steps to rationalize power consumption and fight illegal use of electric current by some people.
The President called for increasing production of power generation stations, making necessary contracts to buy fuel needed for plants, building new stations and rationalizing power consumption by depending more on power-saving bulbs and air conditioners.
The minister expounded the ministry's five-year plan to restructure power prices.
