Visiting US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and his Israeli counterpart Yuval Steinitz signed a new energy agreement on Monday morning that will tighten energy cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Energy Ministry, the deal increases the areas of cooperation between the countries to include alternative fuels, natural gas, smart technologies and electricity technologies as well as water desalination and electricity and water infrastructures, The JPost reported on Monday.
Muniz said of the agreement: "Today, our countries further deepened our continuing cooperation. The US and Israel will continue to cultivate research and development, to lower the cost of energy production and make it greener, and to encourage cooperation between the leading energy scientists in our countries".
