China's weather authority on Sunday canceled its blue alert as rainstorms have begun to weaken, but downpours could still be expected in the country's southern regions.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast heavy rainfall will linger in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Tibet and Yunnan in the next 24 hours, with less precipitation ranging between 50 and 80 millimeters.
Some of these areas are likely to see thunderstorms or strong wind, said the NMC.
The NMC warned of landslides and debris flows triggered by torrential rain since late March.
China has a four-tier color-coded warning system for severe weather, with red being the most serious, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
