While dust and sand will affect various parts of the UAE, the weather forecast for the eastern region is the opposite – with more rainfall on Sunday.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) expects temperatures in the coastal region to reach highs of 47 degree Celsius, while internal and mountain region will have highs of 50 degrees and 43 degrees respectively.
Mild to strong gusts of wind will blow in dust and sand, with northwesterly and northeasterly winds to reach up to 45km/h in the internal areas.
The town of Al Shuwaib, located 60km away from Al Ain city, residents were caught in the middle of unexpected showers on Saturday. Weather forecasters expect unstable weather to continue over the next few days.
Meanwhile, residents in the eastern and southern areas will also have respite from the heat with different intensities of rain and a slight drop in temperatures.
By Sunday morning, Fujairah witnessed dark, cloudy skies and light showers, which the NCMS predicts will sporadically continue for the rest of the week.
