Irbid's criminal investigation division personnel, Tuesday, arrested a suspect who is believed to have destroyed 13 parked cars in one of the northern city's neighborhoods, according to a security source.
The source said the arrest came less than 24 hours after the vehicles were found smashed. Police received reports yesterday that 13 vehicles parked in Irbid's Matla' area had their windows broken and were extensively damaged.
At the scene, officers found iron chains, batons and blunt objects, which are believed to be used in the incident.
The investigation team listened to witnesses and gathered information, what led sleuths to suspect a person who has a criminal record.
The suspect was later arrested and following investigations, police found he had a dispute with one of the neighborhood's residents. He came that night with a number of people searching for the man, but they did not find him, accordingly they started destroying the parked cars.
A police hunt is now underway to arrest the other accomplices.
