Nissan’s newest model coming to dealer showrooms soon is the all-new, completely re-imagined Pathfinder. It was revealed in New York City this week to offer consumers, and media, an up close look at the new SUV, inside and out. 2013 Nissan Pathfinder's public debut in New York City “Unveiling our next-generation Pathfinder is a major follow-up to the introduction of the all-new Nissan Altima sedan,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. “With its bold new design, best-in-class fuel economy and family adventure capabilities, our dealers can’t wait to share this new model with customers in their showrooms.” Truck-based SUV sales peaked in the mid-2000s and have declined steadily as consumer demands shifted to more refined, fuel efficient crossover SUVs. The 2013 Pathfinder is built with unibody construction, vastly reducing its weight by eliminating the fuel-penalizing mass of a traditional SUV’s truck-based frame. It also delivers up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway. Nissan’s Pathfinder is assembled at their Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant; and, the vehicle’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine is assembled at the company’s Decherd, Tenn., powertrain plant. The vehicle is eligible for export to more than 80 destinations outside of the U.S. with main markets being Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. From:nissan-global
