With the level of personalisation you’d expect with a Bentley or a Rolls Royce, Vauxhall’s new ADAM is set to take Paris by storm next month when it receives its global debut in the fashion capital of the world, coinciding with a pricing announcement and official opening of order books for first customers. With more than 1.5 million visitors expected to visit the “Mondial de l’Automobile” (September 27 – October 14) it is the world’s most popular motor show and the perfect setting for the fashionable newcomer. Visitors to the Vauxhall stand (Hall 5.2 stand 501) will find an impressive display of ADAM’s representing just some of many combinations available. Interactive stations will also be on the stand allowing visitors to create their very own ADAM. Based around the three trim levels – JAM (fashionable/colorful), GLAM (elegant/sophisticated) and SLAM (racy/sporty) – visitors can explore the virtually endless customisation possibilities at the touch of a button. The ADAM, which arrives in the UK early in 2013, not only breaks new ground in design it also leads its class in terms of technology, offering features normally only found in higher-end cars. A prime example is ADAM’s top-of-the-range infotainment system ‘My Media’ which integrates the owner’s smartphone with the car making internet-based applications available from the facia-mounted touch screen. Unique in segment, the system supports both android and Apple iOS units. From launch, ADAM will be offered with a choice of three efficient ecoFLEX four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.2-litre 70PS, plus a choice of 1.4-litre engines with either 87PS or 100PS. All will be available with optional Start/Stop technology and will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. In due course, ADAM will be the first car in Vauxhall’s range to adopt the NG (new-generation) small petrol engine, featuring direct injection and forced induction plus an all-new six-speed gearbox.
