The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee, a mid-size SUVs with a new level of on-road driving dynamics and fuel economy, has been launched for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. It will be available in Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk trim levels, powered by the new 3.2-litre V6 Pentastar and the 2.4-litre MultiAir Tigershark engines, both of which are paired to the all-new nine-speed automatic transmission, used for the first time in the mid-size SUV segment. Jack Rodencal, managing director of Fiat Chrysler Middle East, said: “Jeep Cherokee boasts a new design, a nine-speed automatic transmission and two advanced engines, class-leading capability from three innovative 4x4 systems, more than 70 safety features, and a host of new technology features.” The new Jeep Cherokee will be available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, and will offer a choice of three new, sophisticated Jeep four-wheel-drive systems that deliver benchmark off-road capability under all driving conditions. The new Jeep Cherokee is also the first mid-size SUV to feature rear axle disconnect, resulting in reduced energy loss when 4x4 capability isn’t needed and ensuring improved fuel efficiency. The rear-axle disconnects seamlessly, switching between two- and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management and does not require input from the driver. The all-new Jeep Cherokee models that will be available in the Middle East are Sport (2.4-litre, 4 x 2), Longitude (2.4-litre and 3.2-litre options, 4 x 4), Limited (3.2-litre, 4 x 4) and Trailhawk (3.2-litre, 4 x 4 with rear differential lock).
