German luxury automaker BMW Group said it will debut its flagship sixth generation BMW 7 Series at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September, followed with its subsequent release in the Middle East market later this year.
BMW also revealed that the latest instalment of its sedan will arrive in three luxury variations of Pure Excellence, M-Sport and Individual Design, said a statement from the company.
The German automaker said that the new 7 series will feature innovative design and technology in the interior as well as exterior of the vehicle, which will appeal to its luxury-conscious customers in the Middle East.
The new BMW will include elements such as a futuristic headlamp technology, BMW Laser Light, a new welcome light carpet and star-gazer-inspired panorama glass “Sky Lounge” sun roof.
The vehicle will also include a host of new BMW ConnectedDrive driver assistance features such as the intuitive Touch Command: a 7-inch Samsung tablet positioned in the rear of the vehicle, offering passengers a new experience in controlling multiple in-car functions, said the statement.
BMW stressed that the Touch Command capabilities will allow rear passengers to control in-car infotainment and comfort features, such as the new Vitality Programme, which will offer passengers in-seat massage options.
The vehicle’s advanced chassis technology will allow the driver to adjust the car’s set-up to their preferred requirements, creating an ideal balance between sport performance and comfort, it added.
Johannes Seibert, the managing director for Middle East, said: “We are looking forward to launching the new BMW later this year.”
The BMW 7 Series will be equipped with two comprehensively revised engines: the 6 cylinder 740iLi and 8 cylinder 750iLi xDrive, with the latter accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds at 450 hp, and the 6 cylinder equivalent offering an impressive 326hp, with a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1 380 rpm.
“With the Middle East being the third biggest market for the 7 Series sales worldwide, we are confident that the sixth generation of our flagship model will set new benchmarks in the automotive luxury segment,” he added.
