The new 2016 Toyota Camry was officially launched in Bahrain by Ebrahim K Kanoo, the authorised dealer of Toyota and Lexus brands in the kingdom.
The bumper-to-bumper redesign of the Toyota Camry for 2016 will add a new chapter to the history of the model, said a statement.
Masato Katsumata, the car’s chief engineer, said the new-look Camry was developed for customers who want a car with more emotional styling and greater driving enjoyment.
“We wanted to produce a Camry that appeals to its traditional customers as well as to younger buyers,” he said. As a result, the latest Camry is the boldest-looking Camry ever. The car is more expressive, more athletic and more confident.”
Takayuki Yoshitsugu, chief representative, Middle East and North Africa Representative Office, Toyota Motor Corporation, said: “The new Toyota Camry blends an evolution of the car’s values – such as comfort, efficiency, reliability and safety – with a more appealing design and engaging driving experience.

The 2016 Camry will be offered in four variants – the GL, GLX, SE, and the newly added sportier grade XSE.
An aggressive looking front bumper and grille and side character lines give the new Camry a far more expressive style. A pronounced body line starts from the Camry’s muscular front fender and spans across the doors and rear quarter panel, conveying a sense of motion.
The 2016 model Camry XSE will offer LED low- and high- beams with front turn signal indicators and LED DRLs integrated for an elegant appearance with a sleek centre console stack with a 4.2-inch TFT-screen.
It will feature 17-inch wheels and an available dual exhaust signals impressive performance.
The model with be available in 10 colours, including two new colours - dark blue and light blue. Four interior colours - ivory, grey, black, and grey and black - will also be available. are also available: Ivory, Grey, Black, Grey & Black.
Meanwhile, the car will feature a new 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that will produces 181 horsepower and 235 Nm of torque, allowing it to deliver best-in-class engine performance and quietness.
The engine employs Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i). A six-speed automatic transmission is complemented by an innovative flex-start control contributing to excellent fuel economy.
The newly developed Electric Power Steering (EPS) on all 2016 Camry models is tuned for better on-road feel, enhanced stability and more direct-feeling steering inputs.
