The Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 and the Range Rover Sport SVR have debuted at the world-renowned 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, an annual hill climb featuring historiec motor racing vehicles held in the grounds of Goodwood House in England.
The F-Type Project 7, which is the latest model in Jaguar’s acclaimed F-Type sports car range, is the first Jaguar performance vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations Division team, said a statement from Mahmoudia Motors, the sole and official dealer of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands in Jordan.
It will be produced in an exclusive, limited-edition run of up to 250 units, and delivery will commence in mid-next year.
Its distinctive roadster body, introduced in concept form last summer, pays tribute to one of the most famous and iconic racing Jaguars - the three-time Le Mans winning D-type, which in 2014 is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport SVR is the first model to wear the new SVR designation, which will be granted to all upcoming high-performance models.
The future SVR models are required to meet stringent key performance criteria preset by the Special Vehicle Operations division in order to attain the SVR badge. The vehicle is currently undergoing development prior to going on sale next year, and details of its 550PS powertrain remain under wraps.
John Edwards, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Division, said: "The Special Operations Division was established to develop a suite of products and services that enable our most discerning and enthusiastic customers to indulge their passion for our cars. The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 and the Range Rover Sport SVR are a perfect example of such products.”
