Mercedes-Benz is currently hosting its \"Silver Arrow 2011\" competition in Argentina, and designers from all over South America are trying their hand in redesigning Juan Manuel Fangio\'s famed W-196 Streamliner racer. One design in particular caught our eye. Designer Javier Persia has created his concept as a tribute to famed Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio. Persia designed the MB F-11 for racing tracks and he drew inspiration directly from the classic W-196 Streamliner racer. The open-top concept racer was designed to maximize driver room and it features quite a large hood. The front-end clearly takes its cues from the W-196, although the concept features a much sleeker design and the front-wheel arches don\'t protrude nearly as much. Large racing wheels are a continuous theme on the prototype and the rear features a bit of the Bugatti Veyron\'s styling, sans taillights.Other finalists include Jorge Fernandez\'s W100 Mercedes-F and Ezequiel Mosquera\'s MB W196. Persia\'s concept is a fitting tribute to a legendary driver and also stays true to classic Mercedes-Benz racing with a view to the future.Mercedes-Benz AMG has never been shy when building powerful race and street cars. This rare CLK GTR Supersport is evidence of both. It\'s rare for something like this to come up for sale at any time, considering only 25 were built. This 2000 Mercedes-Benz-AMG CLK GTR is street legal, although the project originally started out as a racecar. Back in 1997, Mercedes wanted to enter the FIA GT Championship series. In order to be eligible to do so, they had to build 25 cars for the GT1 class. The car went on to win all World Championship titles that it competed in 1997 and 1998.
