For a bicycle, being electric is not enough anymore. There are countless models that fold to take up less space, but we did not know yet those who split in two… This is the case of the aptly named Secede (secession in German) pedelec that achieves this feat and can be carried in a specifically designed bag (offered in option). The amazing thing is that all cables, including electric were designed to connect and disconnect quickly at the join secured by a clip.We will not know more about the technique used - even looking on the website of the German manufacturer M1, specialist of carbon bikes ... This material is also the main constituent of the Secede - 60% lighter than aluminum and seven times stronger! However to maintain the rigidity of the whole, the weight is announced at 21 kg. The 10Ah Lithium-Ion battery is fitted to the frame at the back wheel, it powers the 250Watt motor placed in the rear hub and allows from 35 to 120km of range. The M1 Secede Pedelec is limited to 25kmph without forcing, however, if you’re always on the rush a S-pedelec version is available and reaches 45 kph!The M1 Pedelec is announced at a price of 4750 € and S-pedelec version costs only € 230 euros more, three colors are available.
