It was an excellent testing session for Chevrolet in Curitiba today with the three RML-run Cruzes topping the timing sheets. Alain Menu posted the fastest time ahead of teammates Rob Huff and Yvan Muller, with the three drivers within a mere two-tenths of a second. The good form of the Cruzes was confirmed by the excellent results of the two Bamboo Engineering cars, competing in the Independents’ Trophy: Alex McDowall was fifth fastest overall with Michel Nykjær, standing in for Pasquale DiSabatino who could not fly to Brazil because of illness, in sixth. Today’s results prove the excellent preparation work done by the team as the theoretical set-ups elaborated prior to the race worked without fail. Track work was limited to minor adjustments with the three drivers deciding on similar options and all expressing satisfaction with the day’s outcome. A sunny winter day made for perfect track conditions at Curitiba, and the entire Chevrolet team is confident ahead tomorrow’s qualifying. From chevroleteurope.
