Mercedes is close to putting the prettiest face on a wagon with the launch of the CLS Shooting Brake, a car based on the 2010 concept shown at the Beijing Motor Show. A prototype version of the same model that will enter production some time next year was recently spotted by our team of photographers while exciting a test facility. Besides the extra cargo room, the Shooting Brake will be the same as the normal saloon, and it’s expected the engine range will also carry over. This means that the base CLS350 model could feature a 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 306 hp. The range will also include the twin-turbo V8 with 402 horsepower in the CLS550. But the best way to burn petrol will be the full 5.5-liter monster hidden under the bonnet of the top-of-the-line CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake. Oh yes, it’s coming!
