Bahraini newspaper, Akhbar Al-Khaleej issued here Tuesday, praised the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani since he took power in June 2013.
The newspaper stated that under the leadership of HH the Emir "Qatar, by 2030, seeks to be ranked as a developed country, having the necessary capacities to achieve sustainable development and ensure the continuation of a decent life for its people, generation after generation." Furthermore, Akhbar Al-Khaleej presented the economic achievements of Qatar, explaining that the State has witnessed a significant economic transformation in the past decade as the huge increase in the oil and gas production led to a record breaking economic growth and resulted in governmental surpluses and wide spending programs in infrastructure, energy and housing.
The newspaper added, that Qatar was able to outperform the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in gross domestic product (GDP) which stood at 18% per year and it was able to rank 13th among 61 countries, mostly developed, in the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the International Institute for Management Development for the year 2015.
The newspaper further praised Qatar National vision for 2030 stating, "On the local economy, the national development's strategic projects, which are distributed on the four pillars of the vision, are advancing where the most important objectives of the State is the exploitation of natural resources and wealth as well as diversification of income sources, especially the industrial development, the increase of the proportion of the contribution of the manufacturing sector in the GDP and the deployment of an industrial awareness." Furthermore, the newspaper issued in Bahrain which holds today's meetings of the 37th session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, praised the pioneering role of Qatar in supporting the path of the Council, by constantly confirming foreign policies that rely on the support of the GCC and strengthen and develop relations with all the Gulf states. Confirming that the vision of HH the Emir for the future includes ensuring that the region is not to be separated from the era which we live, following all modern strategies to be applied in all aspects of the society.
