The combination of television and internet on the TV screen is the core focus of German media conference TV Komm which will take place in Karlsruhe on 28 February 2012. In addition to hybrid reception devices and standards such as HbbTV which take internet services onto the TV set in the living room, the conference will also address smartphones which increasingly develop into a central remote control of the converged multimedia world. The speeches, discussion rounds and workshops will evaluate the perspectives of TV and radio broadcasters as well as publishing houses in the hybrid media world. Further core topics are programme trends, social networking, platform strategies and legal aspects. The convention, which is accompanied by Rapid TV News as a media partner, will include speakers from leading media companies such as Sky, Kabel BW, Eutelsat, Discovery Networks, Eurosport, QVC, NRJ, Philips, NDS and Turner Broadcasting System.
