Information Affairs Minister and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has lauded the solid long-standing fraternal Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations stemming from the shared religion, language and destiny, and kinship ties.
He said that the distinguished bilateral relations are progressing steadily under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his brother the Amir of Kuwait, HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Romaihi extended sincere congratulations to the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people marking Kuwait’s celebrations of its glorious national days.
He lauded Kuwait’s outstanding development, civilisational, cultural and media strides, as well as the prestigious status it has reached at regional and international gatherings thanks to its wise and rational foreign policy in support of security and peace, in addition to its humanitarian initiatives in serving humanity and delivering development and relief aid, which, he said, has been crowned by the choice of the Amir, HH Shaikh Sabah, by the UN as a Humanitarian Leader.
Bahrain’s Information Affairs Minister expressed pride in and appreciation of brotherly Kuwait’s historic supportive stances towards Bahrain’s security and stability, as well as its support of the kingdom’s development, economic and social projects, which, Al-Romaihi said, embodies the highest levels of brotherly ties within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its successful march towards the Gulf Union.
Kuwait’s supportive stances also reflect the two countries’ keenness to enhance joint Arab action and champion just Arab and Islamic causes, he added.
The minister underlined the two countries’ desire to strengthen media cooperation at both bilateral and GCC levels through the exchange of news, information and technical expertise, and the activation of joint production of programmes to upgrade the role of the media in deepening GCC citizenship, protecting Arab national security and highlighting the development and democratic achievements in the two countries.
