German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has won around 155,000 new customers in Q4 2011 - an increase by 18% compared with Q4 2010. With a total of 3.012 million subscribers the 3 million mark was topped at the end of 2011 for the first time. Turnover climbed in the whole year 2011 by 17% to €1.139 billion while the EBITDA loss amounted to €155 million - an improvement by 42% compared with 2010. Sky wants to announce the detailed financial results of Q4 2011 and the whole past year on 23 February 2012. The premium HD packages are now subscribed to by 974,000 Sky customers, 411,000 households have the PVR Sky+ and 594,000 customers use the mobile service Sky Go. Sky expects the EBITDA to considerably improve in 2012 and become positive in 2013. The broadcaster didn't say, however, when it expects to reach black figures below the line. To support its further growth, Sky wants to boost its investments into high-quality content through the acquisition of further exclusive rights and the expansion of its premium HD service. These and further measures will be financed through taking on another loan of €300 million.
