German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will extend the unencrypted period of its sports news channel Sky Sport News HD until 19 January 2012. Through the move, non-subscribers will be able to take a look at the new service until the beginning of the second half of the current season of domestic football league Bundesliga. From 20 January 2012, Sky Sport News HD will only be available to Sky customers as part of basic package "Sky Welt". Originally, it was planned that the channel which launched on 1 December 2011 would only remain free-to-air until the end of 2011. The 24 hour service can be received via cable and satellite both in standard and high definition (HDTV). A live-stream is offered on the internet at http://www.sky.de/web/cms/de/skysportnewshd-live.jsp.
