The Information Affairs Authority (IAA) today thanked Al-Wasat newspaper for committing to correct allegations published last week on the demolition of worship venues. The IAA had summoned Al-Wasat director-general Majdi Mirza and voiced its rejection of the published allegations which mislead the public opinion. The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments had repeatedly denied the allegations. The IAA urged all local and international press to ensure accuracy, probity, credibility and objectivity and abstain from spreading any lies or rumors which may incite sectarianism, hatred, hostility and violence.
