Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Sabah denied categorically on Wednesday statements in the press attributed to him regarding the controversial tape issue. In a press statement, he said he did not mention unequivocally or by insinuation anything, following yesterday's closed door National Assembly meeting regarding the tape, against any particular person associated with the tape, either before or after the closed door meeting. He added that "in deference to the state prosecutor's gag order not to speak about the tape issue and in compliance with the by-laws of the parliament and with the decision to keep the contents of the closed door meeting from being divulged," he would abstain from any comments about this issue.
