A number of specialists from the Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART) were hosted by the Committee of Media and Culture in Majlis Al Shura yesterday. The meeting chaired by Dr. Hamouda bin Mohammed al Harsoosi, Head of the Committee, held discussion on Oman Cultural TV Channel : Reality of Work and Development Proposals" to develop proposals that will contribute to the development of the channel and translate its real objectives in the service of culture and intellectuals.
The committee discussed activating the media cultural activity in the local arena, identifying the reality of the work of the Oman Cultural TV Channel, its current and future programme plans and the challenges faced by the employees of the channel.
The committee also discussed the level of cooperation between the channel and the entities related to the heritage and culture in the Sultanate and the level of external cooperation on which the channel works to provide news and cultural information materials on the Arab and international levels.
On the other side, the committee discussed the subject of investing in heritage sites in the Sultanate.
The committee will host a number of specialists on the subject to study it next month.
Minister replies
The Majlis Al Shura Office held its 13th regular meeting of the 2nd annual sitting (2016 - 2017) of the 8th
term under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
The Majlis viewed several incoming ministerial replies. It also discussed a proposal submitted by a member at the Majlis onamending a text of the article (101) from the Commercial Companies
Law No. (4) for 1974.
The Majlis Office also reviewed several messages from parliaments and external organisations.
