Al Azhar Undersecretary Abbas Shoman condemned on Tuesday threats to foreigners living in Egypt propagated by some TV channels linked to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group.
These channels threatened to kill and target foreigners if they do not leave the country within a specific time.
"Those people have lost their minds and have no understanding of Islam," Shoman said.
"Terrorists do not harm the government, they harm innocent civilians," he added.
Shoman remarks came at a one-day symposium on Al Azhar efforts in combating extremism.
