Congolese TV stations have started this week to broadcast a number of videos on the new Suez Canal project.
In a press release on Saturday, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said this comes within efforts by the Egyptian Embassy in Kinshasa to promote for the new Suez Canal.
The ministry said it sent a number of videos to media outlets in the Democratic Republic of the Congo concerning the huge project.
Meanwhile, Ambassador to Democratic Republic of the Congo Hany Salah said Congolese officials and media are interested in the new Egyptian project because the country wants to establish a new huge dam that is expected to generate 44,000 megawatts.
Egypt will inaugurate the New Suez Canal on August 6 in the presence of presidents, kings and high-level delegations from various countries.
The new canal will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important opportunity to boost the country's economy.
