Two new TV channels are in the starting-blocks in Germany: Media authority ZAK has issued broadcast licences to QVC Beauty and Europa Center TV at its latest meeting in Berlin. QVC Beauty has received a licence for a nationwide home-shopping service valid for 10 years. After main channel QVC, sister service QVC Plus and HD channel QVC HD, QVC Beauty will be QVC Deutschland's fourth TV channel. The launch date is not known yet. The channel carrying the working title Europa Center TV will be operated by Berlin-based Werner Media Group. According to ZAK, the channel will be a 24 hour German-Russian general interest service targeting the Russian community in Germany. It will be distributed via satellite.
