The International Federation of Journalists expressed on Friday condemnation of Houthi armed group attack against the official Yemen television headquarters in the capital Sana’a on Thursday.
In a statement published on it’s website, the IFJ asked Houthis to instantly bring an end to this bombing, stressing at the same time on the importance of holding them accountable.
Head of the IFJ Jim Boumelha said that “we strongly condemn this horrific attack against a governmental media institution in Yemen.”
“This attack is a blatant attack against the international law and crime against the freedom of press and expression,” Boumelha said, demanding a comprehensive investigation in this incident and to hold accountable those behind the attack.
He asked Houthi leadership represented by “Abdul-Malek Al-Houth” to condemn this disgraceful attack, or otherwise he will be personally responsible for it.
Boumelha said that the IFJ will work with the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate in the coming days to collect all facts pertaining to the attack and would spare no efforts to ensure such attack does not reoccur.
