A famous Saudi TV host criticized Wahhabi muftis in Saudi Arabia for issuing fatwas encouraging youths to join militants fighting against the Syrian government forces. Davoud Al-Sharian, speaking on a live program in MBC channel, challenged the controversial Saudi fatwas, saying the preachers send young people to die in Syria, Al-Alam reported. The criticism came as Saudi Arabia has been supporting foreign-backed militants to change the balance of power on the ground since the beginning of unrest in Syria. The Saudi government openly supports terrorist groups, including the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and al-Nusra Front, in Syria.
