German TV group ProSiebenSat.1 this week launched its pay-TV channel ProSieben Fun. Kick-off was at 20.15 CET with the global TV debut of extreme sports programme The Art of Flight. ProSieben Fun will screen the most popular show and comedy formats of free-to-air sister channel ProSieben, partially as German TV debuts. The 24-hour service, which targets young viewers, also contains movies, US series, music shows and action sports events. ProSieben Fun is initially available on the cable network of Unitymedia and on Deutsche Telekom's IPTV platform Entertain. Carriage negotiations are underway with further platform operators. ProSiebenSat.1's existing pay-TV channel Sat.1 Comedy has been renamed Sat.1 Emotions at the same time to differentiate itself more strongly from ProSieben Fun. Instead of comedy, the channel is now devoted to dreams, passion, romance and love. The 24 hour schedule comprises movies for the whole family, partially as German TV debuts.
