The Egyptian state-run TV has the exclusive right to air parliament sessions under law no. 13 of 1979, head of Egypt's News Sector Safaa Hegazy said on Wednesday night.
Speaking to the 90 Minutes TV show on el Mehwar Channel, Hegazy said the parliament is not authorized to give any private channel the right to broadcast its sessions, describing such reports as 'irresponsible'.
Some news outlets reported that a private TV channel seeks to purchase exclusive broadcasting rights for parliament sessions in return for 100 million dollars.
